DRIS: FIRST MOBILITY IN ITALY

Accompanied by the participants of the training and co-creation sessions, the partners of the DRIS – Co-creating intercultural societies project met in Reggio Emilia (Italy) on May 14th for the European Museum Night 2022 to share ideas, experiences, and practices on how to counteract racism with cultural narratives stemming from the activities recently carried by the Italian DRIS initiatives:  

  • Theater workshop “Kassandra (or the World as the End of Representation)” at Spin Time Labs in Rome, staged by Women Crossing, a theatrical collaboration between Nigerian refugees, actress Simonetta Solder, director Alessandra Cutolo, author Kevin Rittberger, and other international authors. In the context of Mikado, a project by MAd’O – Museo dell’Atto di Ospitalità, Stalker/NoWorking, Women Crossing, AMM – Archivio delle memorie migranti, in collaboration with SPIN TIME LABS and Associazione Genitori Scuola “Di Donato”.  
  • Itinerant theatrical workshop by nontantoprecisi at the Lungotevere Castello in Rome, to understand the link between people and the cultural heritage of the city through movement, improvisation, and experimentation. In the context of Essere Fiume, a project by Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali, Biblioteche di Roma, Refugees Welcome Italia, Temple University Rome, Museo Universitario Gemma, Unimore – Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia, with the support of Patrimonio Culturale Emilia Romagna. 
  • Installation “Eclissi. Tre movimenti al nero“, curated by Alice Padovani, visual artist with sound design by Le Piccole Morti. In the context of “Di cosa hai paura?”, a project carried out by Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia, Musei Civici Reggio Emilia, Centro Interculturale Mondinsieme, Casa delle Culture e Museo Paleontologico di Montevarchi.  

The participants in three DRIS pilot projects in Rome (ECCOM), Barcelona (Interarts), and Berlin (ITZ) will reconvene in the next weeks, first in Berlin and then in Barcelona.
